Celebrating Student Achievement In The Arts

The New York City Department of Education and The Fund for Public Schools are pleased to announce P.S. Arts Week, a week-long celebration of student achievement in the arts.

From June 2 - 6, New York City public school students will put their best work in dance, theater, music, and visual arts on display in marquee locations across the city. P.S. Arts Week will begin at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with an opening night reception to celebrate the annual Department of Education juried visual arts exhibition, which highlights outstanding artwork from New York City public school students. The partnership and support of Studio in a School have helped make this exhibition possible.

P.S. Arts Week salutes the outstanding work of our city’s young artists and their teachers, and highlights the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts , the curricular framework developed by the NYC Department of Education and cultural partners that sets clear standards for what students should know, understand, and be able to achieve in dance, music, theater, and visual arts as they move from pre-Kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Check back soon for new information about venues, times, and performances for our exciting line-up of events.
